A funny thing happened to me on the train tonight...

I was leaving Astoria tonight and, of course, the wait for the train was uber long and I struck up small talk with the interesting looking gentlemann stading next to me on the cold windy platform as we waited over 20 minutes for the stupid N to come....
Conversation went from energy to raw food and vegetariaism to government and it came about that he let me know that he is an information designer....thisis his profession- of course this peaked my interest and i asked him to tell me more about what he does. He has a lab at Parsons and literally, his job is to look into waves of human social cycles and events and try to map out patterns and hypothesis on human interaction and future events-.. we talked for over an hour, or rather, he talked and I listened- and i have to say it was the most interesting conversation with someone that i have had in a long long time- quite possible in years-
I dont know how well whomever is reading this knows me, but if you have ever met me, you may have realized/noticed that I ask a lot of question, thirst for knowledge and am infinatley curious about pretty much everything-
My co-workers think I am so weird (haha they say "eclectic") because i have all of these random random bits of info that no one even thinks to learn about...
So anyways- not sure what my point was- but i was invigorated by this occurance tonight- and it encouraged me (in some dum dum way) to even take a chance on he trasfer and my F came right away! too bad it ran on the ACE line after 4th and i wound up in SOHO. Oh well... could have been worse... thank the lord for cabs, however if it werent for the train... I wouldnt have met this most interesting character

Slept till 3:30 today

may i just ask..... why is it that it is necessary that i have to go into work this weekend?
ugh... i'll never be happy. i get what i want. and 9 times out of 10, that thing that 've gotten that i wanted, fails to bring me the happiness that i was assuming it would bring.

Back again

Alright. I will blog more to keep a running note on how my life takes shape over time and also because my friends yell at me to write more.
I got this nifty little netbook http://eeepc.asus.com/global/product904ha.html?n=0 (Thank you Brother-in-law/secret santa!!) so it should be a lot easier and now you will all know what is happening in my life.
I think that will be it for now. I want a nap. It is January 2nd. I was a mess all day yesterday but I did see Slumdog Millionaire with Kelley G in Brooklyn. I am seriously thinking of moving back to Brooklyn this year. I love it there. Not that Alphabet City isn't great. It is. But... I dunno... I like the way I feel in Brooklyn. It's not necessarily better... just different.

Either way, the movie was great and the fact the M.I.A. was super involved in the soundtrack helped my love for it too. I am buying the soundtrack for that this weekend... I have a gift card to Virgin I need to use before they close.Lame.
Oh. And Milk was amazing too. James Fracno, Sean Penn and that Hirsch kid effing KILLED IT. I think Hirsch is quickly becoming one of my favorite actors. Nevermind that speed racer crap. He was amazing as Jay Adams in Lords of Dogtown.
Ok I'm out. Nap time then party time

Hibernation, OVER

REJOICE For it is Spring!!

Cheers to jogging east river park (hopefully soon I will stop being so sore!!!,) the farmers market (Best local Wine available here,) walking everywhere, tanned skin, random evenings, endless shenanigans, new clothes, frisbee in the park, open minds, good movies, better shows, evenings on the patio, impromtu parties, my birthday, baseball games, getting caught in the rain, visitors for days, sugar-free popcicles, skirts, travel, waking up and all around good-natured and whole hearted fun and enjoying of the city.

Cheers to good people (so glad Paul is back!!!)

Cheers to Spring!

Great things about going to bed Drunk :)

You probably didnt take your makeup off, therefore, no need to put it back on in the morning. (Added bonus, Smokey mascara!) ** Please note, this only works for the eye makeup. I don't wear face make up but I could only imagine that you would wake up with tons of blemishes if you tried this with that.

You probably didnt undress fully before falling into bed, therefore, no need to choose an out fit in the morning or go through that tedious task of dressing int he morning... you are already dressed!

Late night snacks taste better. Even if they are low carb ;)

No laying in bed forever trying to fall asleep. Passing out takes care of all that business.

Guaranteed fun dreams!

Silly phone calls make me laugh.

Silly text messeges are even better because the laughs get to continue in the morning when you re-live all the fun you and your friends had the night before.

Music Reviews

No. I am not reviewing music. I am reviewing Music and Album reviews.
What the is with all of the self-indulgent, I-know-the-English-language-and-all-of-its-flowery-metaphors-and-analigies-better-than-you-do-and-I-am-going-to-show-off-in-a-completely-irrelevant-and-un-readable-and-undecipherable-review-of-a-record-you-may-like-but-don't-want-to-touch-now-because-you-THINK-maybe -I-Just-told-you-it-was-crap?

Forget it! If it takes more effort to read a review than it takes to buy/download and listen to it... then 9 out of 10 people.... aren't going to read the review... I wish magazines and labels would hip themselves to that already-
I would so much rather read a really spazzy and excited review that seeps into me and makes me enthusiastic about a release, than some incoherent rambling musing about god knows what that is just truly gibberish to my eyes that will translate to SILENCE in my ear becuase I left reading the review not any closer to buying the album. The point is to trasnlate excitement or digust! So do just that!

Just sayin'.

Im Sorry!

I need to make a more concerted effort to keep up the blog. I know that. And I'm sorry.
ok. there. Done. I know.
Back to life though, work is good, DONE with the Pepsi Monster... for now. It all went well culminating with a trip tp Pepsi HQ in Purchase, NY... Kiiiiind of erie there not gonna lie... not because of the edward-scissorhand-esque lawn of the Pepsi Campus... not because everyone in that city is SOOOO NICE!!! ... but because it was right where someone I know almost bought a house... and it's weird... the only 2 times I've been to Purchase... they've been to the exact same area.... Kind of like when you catch a TV show you never really see... I usually end up catching the same episode the first two times I see it... Oh well...
Went shopping with Jay today (Ugh he is too fabulous for words and I LOVE shopping with him) and took total advantage of the end-of-the-season sales... Shoyld have spent about $700 on these three peices but spent less than a quarter of that!
Oh and as for my apaprtment, my room is finally 99% finished thank GOD! The furniture I was eyeing since September, I finally purchased... along with some other finishing goodies... I Finally had the free time to get out to Long Island for the day and I did pretty well out there too... Time to slow down the spending... after I purchase my ticket for Vegas in June (!!!) Going with Charlene... I expect nothing less than total outrageousness for every minute that we are there. Because we will not sleep. Promise.
Trying to get mom to take me with her to Palestine on her impending trip... we'll see if she deems it safe enough for me. I am excited... been to Jordan... Dying to See Palestine... not reeeeeaaalllly dying for international drama though and so I will leave the decision up to mom. But if she says yes, I am going for sure!
What else.... nothing much- great weekend... long and lazy... just relaxing and hanging out with Paige and hre BFF from England who is with us for the week... Cant wait for the project runway finale! I say Chris should beat Rami for the tents and Christain will take it all in the end... mark my words people... anyone want to go in on a bet with me??
I really do need to figure out a theme for this blogs soon... need to gain more of a following....
